Commentary
This is a copy of an authentic diploma but the form of the original text was remodeled and numerous interpolations were introduced. These were intended to give authority to both the Carolingian forgeries and the remaking of some earlier diplomas and praecepta. Vincenzo Federici assumes that the donation of both the Pantano wood and the church of San Sossio were indeed given to San Vincenzo al Volturno with this diploma. However, it wants to attribute greater antiquity to the donation of another wood in Liburia, close to that of Pantano, granted to the monastery later by Prince Sicardo of Benevento.
